This Airport, 'Pioneer of the West', has been newly
expanded, including a modern new Terminal Build-
ing and Jet runway unobstructed with overwater
approaches. Expansion by the Port of Oakland was
accomplished by filling underwater land a mile into
San Francisco Bay.
