FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, Wethersfield, Conn. Organ-
ized in 1635, is the third oldest church in the United
States. Present building was erected in 1761 with
steeple designed by Sir Christopher Wrenn, famous Eng-
lish architect. George Washington worshipped here dur-
ing the Revolutionary War.
