The South Stack Lighthouse, on the extreme west
coast of Holy Isle, stands in a prominent position on the
isolated rock of the same name, which, since 1827, has been
connected with the isle by a suspension bridge. The
Lighthouse was erected in 1809 and shows a light 212 feet
above sea level; it is open for the inspection of visitors.
