THE world builds Memorials to our great
statesmen, warriors and philosophers to
perpetuate their principles, visualize their
characters and to inspire our youth.
THE National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful
Mother, Portland, Oregon, is a Memorial
being erected to the greatest Woman the
world has ever known-the Mother of Christ.
IT is, therefore, a special Monument of our
faith, a Memorial of our acceptance of
Christ's command from the cross: "Behold
thy Mother" - an example to the world of
our recognition of Mary's Divinely consti-
tuted Spiritual Motherhood of us.
THIS Sanctuary is being built by the Seven
Sacrifices that are made out of compassion
for the Seven Sorrows and Sacrifices of our
Blessed Mother for us.
THESE Seven Sacrifices constitute our com-
plete compassion to Her Martyrdom.
