Built on the very brink of the Canyon
wall, The Watchtower rises from a twenty-
foot foundation of huge Canyon boulders.
Prehistoric prototypes were carefully stud-
ied, and this Watchtower, though not a
replica of any one ruin, was copied closely
from the best examples of prehistoric
Indian towers. At its base is a huge Kiva
built of the same gray weathered rock.
The Tower and Kiva have many large
windows, affording limitless views of this
vast, colorful region.
