ASSUMPTION HALL is the Jesuit House of Stud-
ies on the campus of Spring Hill College, Mobile,
Alabama, where young Jesuit students for the Cath-
olic priesthood pursue their scientific and philosoph-
ical studies in preparation for their future work as
Catholic Educators. It was built in 1951. Spring Hill
College, to which Assumption Hall is affiliated, is
operated by the Jesuit Fathers and is the oldest col-
lege in Alabama. Founded in 1830, it has served
education for over 125 years.
