OX TEAM - COVERED WAGON
When the emigrants pushed west 100 years ago they
with them. The canvas
brought their household goods with them.
top added little in weight and it served to keep out
the sun, rain, and dust. It could be removed for easy
loading and unloading of the wagons. The original
wagons were called Conestogas or Conestoga Wagons,
because they were first made in a town in Pennsylvania
by the same name. Oxen were preferred to horses, be-
cause they were stronger, required less care and they
could eat grass while hitched to the wagon. This Ox
team has gone over 3,000 miles. Buck, his Ox team
and Princess White Feather may be seen in Royal Pictures
"Desert Adventures."
