1985-86: Three-time All-American out of Fairleigh-Dickinson Univer-
sity, Cleveland drafted him with its second pick in the second round,
the 19th player chosen overall . . . After scoring 13 goals and adding
four assists during his senior year, he was named to the East team
of the Budweiser Soccer Classic and recorded an assist... Was very
impressive in mini-camp and proved to be one of the better condition-
ed athletes in training camp, posting the fastest time (4.52) in the first
mile-run conducted by the coaching staff... Was a forward in college
but will be moved to defense in the pros.
BACKGROUND: Completed his collegiate career as the all-time
leading scorer in NCAA history with 87 goals and 31 assists in 88
games... Three-time All-American and a four-time East Coast Athletic
