assembled in this historic building. Thomas
Jefferson, a student at William and Mary Ż
College, writing home, speaks with rapture
of "dancing with Belinda in this famous
Tavern. " The Phi Beta Kappa Society was
organized in the Apollo Hall in this building
December 5th, 1776.
