An Apache Indian Girl. The Apache tribe is noted
for the muscular feats of its women, which frequently
rival those of the men.. A squaw has been known to
carry over 300 lbs. of bulky hay for four or five miles over
a mountainous road, without stopping. This tribe is the
only one known to cremate its dead; not only the body,
but all personal effects.
