One of the most important contributing factors to
Mercedes-Benz popularity and reputation among

achieved through the use of the (1) Swing axle with
its low pivot point which keeps both rear wheels
in constant contact with the road. Standard equip-
ment on all Mercedes-Benz cars.

(2) An extra compensating spring is furnished as
standard equipment on all 190 series sedans, 220
series sedans, 220SE coupe and 300SL roadster-
coupe. It provides an additional measure of safety
for sharp cornering or high speed curves. (3) Tele-
scopic, rubber mounted shock absorbers combined
with (4) Heavy duty coil springs provide constant
stability and riding comfort.
