interethnic strife in March 1992, more than two
million residents in the Republic of Bosnia and
Herzegovina have been driven from their
homes, while hundreds of thousands have
become casualties of the most bitter conflict
Europe has seen since World War II. The
signing of a peace agreement between warring
forces has resulted in an historic effort led by
NATO forces to implement a lasting peace.
