LONG ISLAND 1508
A Fairbanks-Morse road switcher leads a passenger train through a rural Long Island,
NY setting. No. 1508, in the orange and gray colors of the Long Island Rail Road
in the fifties, is a model H16-44 road switcher equipped with a steam generator for
passenger service. The Long Island Rail Road runs more passenger than freight
trains and the motive power is equipped accordingly.
