This park, containing 1,322 acres, commem-
orates the campaign, siege and defense of Vicks-
burg in 1863 It includes nearly all fighting
ground of the battles from May 18th to July
4th. The story of the assaults is told on posi-
tion tablets and markers. Approximately 32
miles of roadways, including 16 bridges, are in
the park area.
