Easton is built on the site of an ancient
Delaware town called the "Forks of the Dela-
ware." It was a very important settlement in
Colonial Days. When Philadelphia was taken
by the British after the Battle of Brandywine,
the public money of Pennsylvania was trans-
ferred to Easton.
