Named in honor of Major Albert Bond Lam-
bert, who created and maintained the field for
public benefit from 1920 to 1928. Area, 546
acres. The six-point hard-surface runway sys-
tem, extending over 3,000 feet in each direc-
tion, is level with the field and can be crossed.
A concrete mat or apron 2,500 feet long and
200 feet wide serves the hangars of the air mail
and passenger lines, flying schools, passenger
depots, weather bureau, restaurant and execu-
tive buildings. The radio range station is lo-
cated on the southeast corner of the field, about
800 feet outside the white boundary lights.
