MAINE GENERAL HOSPITAL FROM WESTERN PROME-
NADE. The buildings of the Maine General Hospital are
located at the northern extreme of the Western Promenade.
They consist of the central building and two wings, a
nurses' home (containing 60 rooms and costing $ 40,000),
and a new, modern surgery building and laboratory (costing
$ 38,000). The total value of the plant is estimated to be
about $400,000. The Hospital has a capacity of 160 beds.
