Located at the New York approach to the George
Washington Bridge, at Broadway and 178th
Street, this Bus Station whose distinctive roof
was designed by the famed Itaiian architect-en-
gineer, Dr. Pier Luigi Nervi, was constructed by
The Port of New York Authority. It has direct
ramp connections with the upper level of the
George Washington Bridge for commuter bus
traffic. The Station, which is expected to accom-
modate 18,000,000 passengers in its first year of
operation, has direct pedestrian access to the
Independent Subway at 175th Street,
