1986 Taurus Wagon-None Quite Like It
When Ford engineers set out to redesign the stan-
dard American wagon, they had only an idea of what
the final shape might be. Letting form follow function,
the result was the impressive new aerodynamically
designed Taurus Wagon. Its orthopedically designed
seats comfortably accommodate six passengers-or
eight with the optional rear facing third seat. For
versatility, the rear seat (second seat) is a “60/40
split-fold” version, providing seating for two while
allowing a portion of the seat to be lowered to accom-
modate long cargo such as skis. A high-strength
plastic luggage rack with adjustable, integral flip-up
cargo tie-downs is standard. And the Taurus Wagon
incorporates Ford's unique two-way tailgate, with an
independently opening window. Taurus, available in
L, GL, LX and sporty MT5 series... a thoughtful
rendition of a new American wagon.
