ABRAHAM LINCOLN was born in Larue Co.,
Kentucky on Feb. 12, 1809. He was 52 years of age when
first inaugurated, and was the first President elected by the
new (or what is now) the Republican party. During his ad-
ministration there occurred the Civil War and the abolition of
slavery. He served but a little more than a month of his
second term when he was assassinated while at theatre and
died on April 15, 1865.
