Additional Details:
Sensational golf professional at The Greenbrier Golf & Tennis Club, White Sulphur Springs, West Va. Is famous for his ability with a sand blaster so that Sam doesn't find traps and bunkers much trouble. Sometimes, however, he does get in real trouble such as in the 1937 Toledo Invitation Four-Ball Matches when his drive landed in the trouser pocket of a galleryite, costing him a two-stroke penalty. In the 1938 Cleveland Open Sam hit his second shot on the 18th hole just as someone opened the clubhouse locker room door. His ball went in the locker room costing him a two-stroke penalty which left him one stroke behind the winner.
