centennial year with most of the city's 4,000 fireplugs brilliant-
ly painted as Revolutionary War heroes. The unique project,
brainchild of a local woman, caught the fancy of Civic leaders
and townspeople as well. Donated labor and materials made
this colorful heritage reminder possible.
