Under the watchful eye of the Line Coach, recruits fire specially
designed .22-caliber pistols for qualification in the Indoor
Pistol Range. USNTC is located on Lake Michigan, 35 miles
north of downtown Chicago and four miles from Waukegan.
It is the oldest and largest facility of its kind in the U.S. Its
essential role is recruit training of inductees, and the operation
of service schools for student Navy personnel.
