TERMINAL BUILDING, CHRISTCHURCH INTERNATIONAL AIR-
PORT, N.Z. With flowers like these, Christchurch has earned
the title of "Garden City". The Canterbury Plains are
unusually flat by New Zealand standards making possible
one of the few airports in the country able to serve inter-
national jet aircraft. Men and supplies are flown from here
to Antarctica and back by U.S. aircraft of Operation
Deepfreeze.
