propulsion units for precise maneuvering and station-
keeping during seafloor mapping. USNS KANE was built by
Christy Corp., Sturgeon Bay, Wisc., and delivered on 19 May
1967. Operated by Military Sealift Command for the Ocean-
ographer of the Navy.
