U.S.S. PARSONS (DDG-33)
The PARSONS was originally constructed as a Hull class
destroyer by the Ingalls Shipbuilding Corporation at
Pascagoula, Mississippi. Decommissioned in January 1966
PARSONS underwent a two year conversion to a Decatur
class guided missile destroyer at the Long Beach Naval
Shipyard. PARSONS was recommissioned on 3 November
1967. Presently the PARSONS is a forward deployed unit of
the 7th Fleet homeported in Yokosuka, Japan.
