In 1862 Tim Goodall and a Half - Breed scout
drove the first wagon train down Freezeout
Hill (To the left you will see the old original
road). They were seeking a route to Florence,
Idaho placer diggins. In 1871 this route was
used as the main road from Boise, Idaho to
Umatilla, Oregon. In 1864 Jonathan Smith
built the first Hotel and Feed Stable of logs,
in Emmett, Idaho.
