GHOST TOWN
Mogollon, New Mexico
This was a small settlement in the center of the
Cooney mining district, hamed for Sgt. James
Cooney who came to Ft. Bayard in 1870. This
was a place where "Silver was Queen" reminis-
cent of the fabulous gold and silver days gone
by. This is an entrance to the rugged and beau-
tiful Gila Wilderness Area, Sportsmen's Para-
dise. This view shows the Mogollon Cone.
