OIL WELL 42 MILES DEEP: With this giant
Helmerich and Payne rig the Shell Oil Company
drilled the Rumberger No. 5 24,002 feet deep in
the search for oil. Located about 5 miles south of
Elk City, it is Oklahoma's deepest and the
world's second deepest well.
