STATE DEAF AND BLIND INSTITUTE -
CEDAR SPRINGS. The State Institute for the education
of the Deaf and Blind is located at Cedar Springs, 4 miles
south of Spartanburg. It is open to the negroes as well as the
whites, both sexes; there are about 200 students in attendance,
the annual tuition fee being $150. In addition to all scholastic
branches, manual training and music are taught. The value
of grounds and building is about $100,000.
