1736 by John and Charles Wesley, founders
of Methodism, who came to Georgia at

time as missionaries of the Church of England.
The present church edifice was built in 188MAR 13
by Anson Green Phelps Dodge, Jr., as me-10730 AM

Mr. Dodge then took Holy Orders and became
the rector of the church which he had built,
serving until his death in 1898.
