THE LIFEBOAT AT WORK.
By Appointment.
To the Rescue. When news comes to a lifeboat station
of a vessel in need of help, a tug goes out with the lifeboat
in tow, and they are thus able to go straight to the vicinity
of the wreck, thereby saving much valuable time. When
the scene of action is reached, the lifeboat goes on by
herself, the tug standing by to assist on the return
journey. If the weather is too bad for the tug to go out,
the lifeboat has perforce to dispense with her assistance.
