The Roberts Statue. Calcutta contains many fine
statues and monuments, but none that excite more interest
at the present day than that of Field-Marshal Earl Roberts,
who, for 41 years in India, devoted himself to the service
of his sovereign and the interests of his country. The
statue is on the Red Road, near Fort William.
