The Echo. This is not the famous echo who gained
such a reputation for courtesy by answering “Begorra,
grandly” to the shouts of "How d'ye do, Paddy Blake?''
but a less original spirit, a youth who stands at a regulary
well-known point in the ascent ready to blow the Alpen-
horn for a few pfennigs and the pleasure of the tourists
who wish to hear the manifold "wild echoes flying”.
