A CENTURY OF PROGRESS
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
TODAY
NODAY I inspected the world's fastest multi-motored pas-
senger-mail-express plane, a sister ship of the one pictured
on the reverse side. Forty of these new type, low-wing, all-metal
Boeing monoplanes are in service on United Air Lines' Coast-
to-Coast route. This airplane was selected as the only modern
airplane to be exhibited in the "Dome" of the Travel and
Transport Building, because it represents the latest features of
airplane design and construction.
Powered with two 550 h. p. supercharged Wasp engines,
they have a high speed of more than three miles a minute.
They carry ten passengers, two pilots and stewardess, their
baggage and mail and express and can climb, fully loaded, 1320
feet per minute and to 10,000 feet in eleven minutes. They
incorporate new features of comfort, speed, strength and power.
