CAPT. DEMPWOLF:
Pera, March 20, 1907.
"Moltke arrived on time;
everybody well; weather
delightful. Passage from
last port has been most
enjoyable, and on Monday
last a fancy dress ball was
given, which proved a big
success. Some very beauti-
ful Oriental costumes were
worn on this occasion.

CONSTANTINOPLE, the
capital of Turkey, standing at the meet-
ing place of two continents, pictures-
uely beautiful to look upon, gorgeous
in color and florid in architecture, but
strangely unlike European cities in
order, cleanliness and regularity.
There is much to visit here, but above
all, among the many mosques, domes,
and monuments, do not fail to see St.
Sophia. There is also the dome of the
Mosque of Suleiman, not to be missed.
