Ray Charles' original style of musical composi-
tion and vocals has put him on the top rung of
the ladder of success. His arrangements of gos-
pel, pop and even hillbilly tunes prove his versa-
tility as a musician. He has done a masterful job
in organizing the Ray Charles Band and the Ray-
lettes. "Your Cheating Heart", "You Are My
Sunshine", "No Letter Today", "Georgia On My
Mind", "Sweet Sixteen Bars", "Yes, Indeed",
"Lonely Avenue", "Losing Hand", "Fool for
You", and "Hallelujah I Love Her So" are a
few of his hits. Ray's success, in spite of his
blindness, has inspired thousands of people who
have handicaps. (Little Stevie Wonder, in par-
ticular, has been encouraged by Ray's success.)
