| The church was built during the years 1867 to 1888 of sandstone quarried by the parishioners east of Jasper. Father fiddles dragged the stones in position with oxen and supervised construction. The tower is 220 feet high. The roof is supported by 14 octagonal columns cut from great logs 67 feet long |
