Quincy-Home of John Quincy Adams. John Quincy
Adams, sixth President of the United States, was born in
Quincy, Norfolk Co., Mass., July 11th, 1767. He was
graduated from Harvard in 1787. On July 26th, 1797, he
married Louise Catherine Johnson. Adams was a devoted
husband and father, and their home life was one of
uninterrupted happiness. Mr. Adams died of paralysis in
Washington on Feb. 23d, 1848. His wife then returned to
the Quincy home, and her death occurred on May 14th,
1852. Both are buried in Quincy.
