CITY OF HOPE – Duarte, California
Founded in 1913 when two tents were pitched
on a barren desert plot, the free and non-
sectarian City of Hope now occupies 90 land-
scaped acres minutes from Los Angeles. Sup-
ported solely by dedicated Auxiliaries and public
generosity, the City of Hope is a pilot medical
center seeking in its hospitals and laboratories
to influence medicine and science everywhere in
the fight against catastrophic diseases.
