The Old Home ToWn
On a winter's night in the old home town
With a full moon shining bright,
And snow clinging onto everything,
Ho! What a wonderful sight!
There are grandfather and grandmother,
Friends and relatives all;
Everyone's coming to town tonight
For a dance in the old town hall.
Hear those bells as they go ting-a-ling,
As the horses stomp their feet!
All are happy and shaking hands
With everyone they meet.
When the music starts, it gladens the hearts
Of both old and young together.
Everything's bright on this winter night3;
No one thinks of the weather.
They will dance as long as the music will play
Old fashioned, and nothing classy;
Then drive home at the break of day,
Each lad taking his lassie.
