Lucky The Ducky
Lucky the Ducky and Dicky the Chicky
Went for a walk by Swifty the Creeky.
Lucky the Ducky slipped and fell in.
Early in life he had learned how to swim,
But Dicky the Chicky didn't know that,
So he he ran to the barnyard pit-it-te-pat.
He met Jakey the Drakey, always slap happy,
And as everyone knows, Lucky's old Pappy.
Said Dicky the Chicky: “Lucky's drowned, I think;
He fell in the water--there's too much to drink."
But Jakey the Drakey was wise to the ways
Of small frightened chickens; he knew it pays
To be sure before speaking; once rumor starts
It causes trouble and breaks many hearts.
Said Jakey to Dicky, "You go back and see."
Then Dicky found Lucky as happy could be.
