Since 1851 AIDEN LAIR (haven of rest) has
provided travelers with good food and lodging at
reasonable rates. Marker before the lodge reads:
Sept. 14, 1901 stopped at Aiden Lair to change
horses in night ride on huckboard from Mt.
Marcy to North Creek to take oath of president
at Buffalo, N. Y.
An historical collection pertaining to Roosevelt's
sojourn in the Adirondacks is on display in the lobby.
