FLIGHT CONTROL TOWER Edwards AFB, California. Recently opened is the new 142 foot control tower, be- lieved to be the tallest in the world. This is part of the expansion plan of the AFFTC for better, faster and more economical operation. Also opened recently is the long- est concrete runway in the world, 15,000 feet long and 300 feet wide at a cost of five million dollars.
