TVA WATER CONTROL SYSTEM
There are now about 30 large dams in the
TVA System which embraces portions of seven
states—Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Missis-
sippi, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Virginia,
The dams regulate the water for flood con-
trol, navigation improvement, and power pro-
duction. Total drainage area of the dams is
40,910 square miles.
