The Alligator is a native of the Florida Everglades. For
some time its skin has been fashionably used in the manu-
facture of bags, shoes, etc., and with this increasing use
they had been hunted until they were almost extinct. To
remedy this situation and supply the demand, several thriv-
ing Alligator farms are now in operation, where the breeding
and care of alligators is the main industry.
