The Oriental Hotel, or "Hotel de Oriente," is one of
the chief landmarks of Manila, and a center of tourist life
in this part of the world. The hotel is a three-story
structure of elaborate design with arches, somewhat sug-
gestive of Moorish architecture, extending to the height of
the second story. In front of the hotel is a garden-like
plaza, the conspicuous feature of which is a pretentious
fountain.
