John Chapman, better known as "Johnny Apple-
seed” traveled back and forth from his "parent
orchards” in Pennsylvania to the banks of our
Hoosier rivers from the late 1700's until his
death in March 1845 visiting the scattered
homes of the frontier preaching the work of
God and planting apple seeds.
