GENERAL VIEW. The University of Minnesota,
established in 1868, embraces twenty-two substantial buildings
costing $800,000, which are surrounded by a park of 50 acres
(valued at $450,000), in full view of the Falls of St. Anthony.
Nearly 3,000 students are in attendance. An agricultural
experiment station of 250 acres is maintained half-way between
St. Paul and Minneapolis, the land value of which is $430,000,
and buildings and equipments, $400,000.
