GENERAL WILLIAM L. (Mudwall) JACKSON
(1825-1890)
Confederate Civil War officer, was a
cousin of Stonewall Jackson. Born in
Clarksburg, he commanded forces at the
battle of Droop Mountain and took part
in operations in Virginia and Maryland. He
was commissioned brigadier general in
1863.
